carbuncle (final fantasy)
The green/aqua long-eared summon with a ruby gem on its forehead that appears regularly in the Final Fantasy series.
It first appeared in Final Fantasy V as a boss with a more beastly form, before joining the party as a summon in its more common form factor. Proto-Carbuncle from Final Fantasy XIV alludes to the boss.
