An even-hoofed herbivorous mammal of the genus Camelus with distinctive fat deposits on its back called humps, that enables its survival capability in extreme temperatures and harsh environments for up to two weeks without food and water. Camels have been domesticated for transportation and as livestock that provide milk, meat, leather and hair for commodities such as textiles or felted bags.
